Prayers

I don't know her name or her family's name, but Eric had a co-worker die yesterday. She had a heart attack. The really sad and scary thing? She was 33. That's how old I am. Anyway - just pray for this family. There weren't any children, but still an entire family.

33

This past Wednesday was my 33rd birthday. My last year to be in my early 30s. My last couple of birthdays have been less than fun so I had no expectations this year. It was a nice quiet day. Here were the highlights....

Arriving home to find THIS on my porch...and know it was ALL for me!!

Then opening it and finding this!!

A wonderful friend gave me these...along with some dark chocolate covered pretzel chips!

I took the kids to a kids' art studio for a "playdate"...for $5 per kid, for an hour...they go and paint and play and make little crafty things.

My birthday wine...which was so yummy.

My gift bags with my presents in them!! HAHAHA!!! You gotta love the husbands creativity!

My kids!

Camryn moment

Just to document that this child CAN make a good decision...which I will remind her of as she gets close to teen years...this was our conversation in the car today.

Camryn: "Mom, D (no names to protect the innocent) didn't invite L to her birthday party and that made L sad. But now she's invited."

Mom: "Well, were you invited to her party?"

Camryn: "Yes, but I told her I didn't want to go."

Mom: <> "Really? Why don't you want to go?"

Camryn: "Mom, D is mean sometimes and I don't want to go to her party because she's mean sometimes and I told her that too."

Mom: <> "Wow Camryn, that was such a grown-up decision - I'm so proud of you!"

Wow - with the temptation of a birthday party she was able to turn it down based on true character! I could hardly believe it!! So proud of her for such a wise decision!

The greatest AHA moment!

The other day Amber found a picture of Eric's parents and brought it to me. Here's our conversation:

Amber: "Mom, look, it's Papa!"
mom: "Yes, that's right!"
Amber: "Who is that?"
Mom: "That's Grandma...that's daddy's mom."
Amber: "Oh. Where is she?"
Mom: "In Heaven."
Amber: "OH!!! With Jesus?!!" (wide-eyed and high volume!)
Mom: "Yes!"
Amber: "A long long time ago, the bad guys put Jesus on the cross and He died. Then he laid down on the rock and had a cast on (wrapped in the cloth) and then the angel came and moved the rock and Jesus was alive again. Then he went on a cloud into Heaven!!"

This was from a snowday morning. The last snow day we had, all the kids piled in my bed and brought me the "My F1rst Mssg" Bible. They found the story of Jesus on the cross - and that's what we talked about that morning...and this was Amber's re-telling of the story!!

I only wish it would have been recorded!! It was priceless!

Princess Snowgirl

3 snowfalls this year!! 3 snowdays! But this was the first wet snow...so we built a snowgirl. Granted...by the time we finished her our yard was all grass...but it was fun!! (where was Tyler? Inside pouting that his fingers were cold because he refused to wear his gloves.)
Then we warmed up with Mimi's hot chocolate! What a great day!
